Following a successful interview, we will work with you to draft an Offer of Employment to be extended to your potential hire. Once they've accepted the terms of the Offer of Employment, our team begins our comprehensive Background Checks.

Only 4% of our applicants make it through our evaluation process - elite homes deserve elite staff. Here are some key practices involved in the Oceanside Staffing Screening process.

  • RESUME REVIEW

    Evaluate education, experience, and certifications relevant to the job.

  • PHONE INTERVIEW

    Conduct an initial phone interview to assess basic qualifications, availability, and interest in the position.

  • Invite promising candidates for an in-person interview. This allows our staff to gauge personality fit, communication skills, and professionalism.

  • Request and contact references from previous employers to obtain insights into the job performance, reliability, and standing relationship with their previous employer. We require no less than two verifiable references before moving to the next stage of screening.

  • Assess practical skills such as first aid and CPR certification, knowledge of required job duties, and ability to handle emergencies.

  • Conduct comprehensive background checks including criminal records, driving history (if applicable), and employment verification to ensure reliability and trustworthiness.

    *Oceanside staffing conducts comprehensive criminal background checks, education verifications, DMV record checks and social media checks. Background checks beyond this scope can incur an additional charge.

  • We schedule trial periods no more than 2-5 days where the staff member works alongside the family/manager to evaluate their interaction with other staff and their principal, adaptability to routines, and overall compatibility with the household dynamics. These trail periods are paid working hours, required by law regardless of the decision to hire.

  • Evaluate how well the candidate aligns with the family's values and expectations for household management.

  • Discuss and ensure the importance of confidentiality, discretion, and maintaining privacy within the family's home and community.

Background Checks

Below are the different kinds of background checks we can provide.

Criminal
Background Checks

This can include information from law enforcement, court, and correctional facility records, as well as sex offender records, social security trace, global watchlist search and national criminal searches.

Driving Record
Checks (DMV)

This will help you understand an applicant's driving history and may also show criminal driving records like DUls.

International Background Checks

We can run background checks in 200+ countries allowing you the peace of mind when hiring new staff. (available at additional charge)*

Education
Verification

This can include records of an applicant's degrees and education to help confirm their qualifications for the job.

Pre-employment Health Screening and Physical Exams

This screening helps you evaluate your candidate’s overall health to confirm they're physically and mentally capable to perform job-related responsibilities. Please note, not all health and physical exams are deemed necessary and thus not legal for specific household roles. (available at an additional charge)*

Social Media
Checks

Our database of candidates are required to make all social media accounts available to our agency for viewing. Once accounts are made public, we begin our thorough scrutinization.

I-9
Verification

Form I-9 verification confirms W-2 employees’ employment eligibility in the United States, reduces risk when hiring, and ensures compliance. (available at an additional charge)*
